My transfer case was replaced at ~30,000 miles and replaced AGAIN at 50,000 miles. WTF? Holy design flaw, Porsche! The replacement one developed cracks in the housing near the drain (picture below). My understanding is that Porsche no longer even manufactures this part. Instead they recondition used ones. This could end up being the Achilles Heel of the 958...
You can see cracks around the threading.
That crack is from over tightening the drain plug, not a design flaw.

Well, then, Porsche of North Huston has no idea what they are doing. The replacement at 30,000 miles was done by a Porsche dealership. And they refused to stand by in their work. Classic.

Wow. That is pretty crazy. The specified torque for that is something like "just snug enough".
Porsche has wised up since those days. I think the max CPO warranty is now 1 or 2 years with unlimited miles, but Porsche knows their customer base well—most owners won't rack up crazy miles anyway. I miss the days of the 6-year CPO warranty.
I suspect that I am one of the last 2014 owners with a CPO. The service manager looked at me like I was crazy when I said the car had a CPO.
I let her know that it was a "special car" and she replied that It must be really special if it has an existing CPO after 12 years. I showed her the coverage letter from Porsche NA and when she entered the VIN in the system her eyes got wide. She replied "that is indeed a special car." I'm guessing that she was able to see the service history and two plus page option list. I still don't know who the original buyer was that ordered it, but they definitely had some kind of connection in the Porsche hierarchy. Maybe I'll find out someday... and find out what the $21k in options not listed on the build sheet are.
In Europe, the Porsche Approved warranty can last up to three years. The warranty can go on a car that is up to fifteen years old. That means in theory my 2015 CTTS could be covered up until 2033!
The vehicle is given an inspection before the warranty is given and also each time the warranty is extended. All maintenance must be done by Porsche. My Cayenne was on the last months of Porsche Approved when I bought it used (in Holland) in late 2023. I got a three year extension at the local French dealer the following year. So far, the warranty has not paid for itself, but the more I keep reading this Forum, the more I get the feeling it will!
Tom F, please post pictures of that sweet truck! The interior must be very special. Do you have the build sheet? You might post the pics here or on the "Rare Cayenne Interiors" thread I started towards the end of 2025.

To add to the CPO discussion. I sold a 2012 Carrera S with 96k miles to my local dealership last year. The dealership CPO'd the car with the Porsche CPO through 2027 when they sold it a month later.

It's lonely at the top ... although one could even spec a Cayenne into the 300K club (paint to sample ...).
I'm looking forward to photos of that interior -- black, red and silver makes for a nice combo.
It seems you have both the Burmester and a 20" collapasible spare tire. I thought the subwoofer made that a no go.
The sticker was $216K with an additional $21k in options not listed on the sticker. I am not really sure what that means... and in addition, the owner put a NavTV, remote starter, built in Radar/Laser detector and a jamming system. I am still finding add-ons that I (and the PO) weren't even aware of. Maybe a Bond-style ejector seat...?
I have a highly optioned S with the original sticker that was also missing something like $10k in options on the sticker. However, VINAnalytics was able to give me the full options list along with the pricing so that everything added up. The one you show isn't itemized but if you pay for the full build sheet, it details everything out.
