At what point should certain components be replaced.
Our 13 S has about 130,000 miles on it, and per the Car Fax, was serviced regularly, but most services are not detailed where I know what was done. Transfer case was replaced with new from Porsche at 120,000, so diffs and trans might have been serviced, but will change lube in those regardless, but things like starter, coolant vent line, thermostat, water pump, air struts/compressor, etc were planned, but looks like some of these components can live a long time, so now I’m thinking of holding off until they are an issue. Plugs, coils, cam cover gaskets ( small leak detected ), PCCB pads, brake fluid change, coolant change, etc all planned, but thinking of holding off on everything else.
only concern is I’m shipping it to Colorado Springs for 2 years for my daughter to finish school, 2000 miles away, and don’t want her to have a major issue where I can’t help.
Probably OK as it looks like there are a few Indy’s in Denver that appear to be trustworthy if she needs help, but worth asking for opinions on the other systems mentioned.
I would definitely add changing out the thermostat, water pump, idler pulley and belt to the mix just to be safe. The compressor and air struts certainly are a wear item, but can last a long time depending on your climate and driving habits.
