Hi, I recently got a 2014CD and since this is my first pcar I am still learning about all the idiosyncracies and lack of keyless entry. I already did a bunch of coding to make my CD more user-friendly but a couple of things are driving me nuts. First, there is an intermittent ding-ding...ding-ding noise are low speeds. Very infrequent but startles me every time. I immedaitely check guages and there are no lights of any kind to indicate what this ding-ding...ding-ding (always twice) refers to. I cannot recreate it, seems random to me although I am sure something is triggering it. Second is what seems to be a light of some sort on the lower dash to the right of the steering wheel at about knee level. It is small, about 1/8" diameter and is not visible during driving, I have never seen it go on. It is not mentioned anywhere in the manual but it looks like it was installed at the factory. Any help with ding-ding and light is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

 

ding sound is "probably" you getting too close to something. Switch on upper console turns it off. I am guessing you are referring to the ambient light sensor that is a sensor not a light?

 

Thank you for a reply. No, ding-ding...ding-ding comes up during normal driving and is not accompanied by sensor didsplay on the screen. It is also not the same consistent ding, this one is always two doubles. Ahhh... ambient sensor makes sense. Another mystery solved. Now to figure out this ding thing.
