Angry 2012 Cayenne V6 - ECU damage?

Car was jump started with reversed polarity. Ouch. Now no comms with ECU, but it gets hot. Other modules have errors "no comms with ECU. ." Definitely looks like the ECU is dead. Dealership also thinks it's the ECU and wants $6k to replace. No thanks.

I pulled the ECU and physically inspected. . . it looks perfect inside and out. Do I have any options? If I bought a used ECU from another car, would I be able to program it with PIWIS (I have read elsewhere that this is not possible and the ECU's are one time program only)?

There are some Porsche ECU repair companies like ecudoctors.com. .. reputable?

The car is beautiful. . it would be a shame to scrap it. I welcome any other suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I checked to make sure there was not water intrusion anywhere. Everything is as dry as a bone.
