2013 Cayenne S, clicking/clunking engine sound
Hi, I just bought a 2013 120k miles Cayenne S with a clunking/clicking/ticking noise in the engine. It sounds like a lifter gone bad, on the passenger side engine bank.
The noise is present at warm idle. However, if I remove the oil filler cap, or open the vent line, it goes away! The idle is slightly higher when I open up the cap or vent line, but when I rev it to the same rpm with cap and vent line closed the noise is still there.
I should mention that the engine runs great, lots of power, normal oil pressure.
Also, removing the oil filler cap require a firm grip, the suction on idle is like a normal vacuum cleaner. Is that really normal?
Any thoughs?
Regards, Johan

Anyone experience similar symptoms with the PCV or fuel tank vent valve?
The reason I ask is that I can't find any info on cam chain or valve lifter issues on these engines, which would indicate that similar problems are very unusual.
Regards,
Johan
