2016 Cayenne S. Any idea what would cause this? I started out with the battery dying while out of town for two weeks.
Dealer installed battery was new in Nov 23 so it charged up fine. Since then I have charged it up and now keep it on a trickle charger. Unfortunately I still get this warning and as a side note the tire pressures are not saved when it starts. Load tested it recovers to 12.8 and never get below 1000cca during the test. Is there something I need to reset?

Looks like some switch under the seat may be the issue? I’ll see if it moves enough to click into the slot and reinstall the battery. Currently put the one from my Tundra in so it wasn’t disconnected long.

So that’s not it. The switch is firmly locked into the rear inward slot. Still got the warning this morning. Will leave on charge and try again. This is pretty frustrating. Do I need a code reader to go further? Will that specify the condition not being met?

The solution may be as simple as disconnecting the ground/chassis connection in the driver's footwell under a carpet precut. Leave it disconnected for about 30'. Then reconnect.

When it first ran down, I removed the battery and installed a battery out of my tundra so that nothing was lost. Then with the H8 battery removed, I charged until it was at 12.8 on a heavier 6 amp charger and reinstalled.
Because I kept getting the warning, I did that again and while the H8 battery was on the garage on the floor, I used a hand held load tester you might see at Napa. And it never dropped below 11.5 volts or 1200 cca while under load.
Both times the power was not disconnected more than a few seconds because I used the tundra battery to keep everything powered. Is that the issue? I should leave the battery disconnected or pull the ground off the stud under the seat?
Thanks so much for the reply!!

A couple of thoughts:
- Since the battery is most likely AGM, make sure you are using a charger that has an AGM mode
- Since you have had the battery out a few times already, and keep getting the same result, I am not optimistic that a third disconnect will work, but it can not hurt
- attached is a picture of where the negative/ground cable chassis connection is that I am referring to.

Going to pull it this afternoon. Any benefit or downside to pulling the negative cable for 30 min over the ground strap when it comes to results? I don’t mind pulling the seat since I’m used to it.

Battery tender model hooked directly to the battery terminals is AGM compatible with AGM mode selected.

Have a look at this. I see that you checked this, but there is some discussion about contact not being made in a different video.
There is also a battery monitor that gets connected at the negative post. Hopefully the tech reinstalled it.

So I pulled the acorn nut off, the cable fully disconnected and was protected and I let it sit over night. Hooked it back up 18 hrs later and battery protection active came up. Also, the radio stations still worked? Nothing aftermarket is installed. I’m confused.
*Note: Even more fun, the air bag light is on now? Drove it for 30 mins parked and are started, still airbag light and battery protection. Both warnings are active.

So as luck would have it, my now 54 month old AGM battery needed to be swapped out. While I was in there, I had a look at that small slider switch under the seat, under the carpet. I noticed that it is possible to have that switch to the rear but not FULLY to the rear. Just a thought.

Yes I did confirm the switch. I’ll post a picture later but it’s as far back and in the notch.
Local place to me said 3rd week of August. $190 just to plug in the scanner plus 190/hr to diag. Decided to get the Foxwell tool to start. That will at least read and clear the airbag. Maybe it will tell me about the battery?
