Default How reliable is the PDCC?

Hey folks, I recently bought a Porsche Cayenne Turbo 2010, it had low miles (67k - well, it's low for European standards, many cars here are 150K+), variocam bolts replaced (at 5k miles) and the car cheap, so I decided to go for it.

I took it to my indy Porsche specialist who noted a few things needed to be done, nothing major, timing cover oil leak through bolts (needs bolts replacement), brake master cylinder needs replacing, a few broken vacuum lines and the tranny service is upcoming.

However he also told me that the car has PDCC and is showing very early signs of wear.

Since this is a ridiculously expensive part, I was wondering on what's the experience with it here? Is this part reliable? Does it break often?

What does that actually mean? What are very early signs of wear?

Maybe he's referring to the sound some of them make. You can install a new pump and it will still make a sound. It's luck of the draw. Some are more noisy than others.

Well, we were looking at this part and we both saw that there is an oil grease/smudge right where the arrow is. It's not leaking, but my mechanic says that this is a sign of early failure:

No issues at 121K Miles, just change the PDCC fluid and keep rolling even if you have a leak.
