Default Vent Damaged

Hi Everyone -- I have a 2017 Cayenne Platinum Edition. The control lever on the air vent came off the other day and seem to have broken apart. Curious if this is repairable and if any advice on where to get new one to install. I've attached a few pics, which I hope will help.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Super common failure. You can get a repair tab on amazon for <$9

Do I need to remove the vent itself to install the new one or can it be done without removal?

If you're going to pull the vent anyway, it's a great time to install Carplay.

[Edit: Just noticed it's an outer vent...oops]

Already have factory installed CarPlay, which is great. I don't think I could successfully get the vent off myself to do the repair, so was hoping there was a way to install the clip without removing the vent.

Any thoughts on if that is possible?

It really is. Chopsticks worked best for me. A small bright flashlight (or headlamp) helped...

You'll feel the disengagement when you get it.

Yes, that's the only way I've done it. I don't see how removing the vent helps with anything, other than you can take it to the couch to work on?!
From a dexterity/skills standpoint, removing the vent is way easier than trying to clip in the new control lever, so if removing the vent is out of your league, good luck with the control lever!
