Default 2016 CD - oil-gunck on engine

Hello

I have a 2016 Cayenne with 3.0 v6 diesel.
The engine has a layer of oil-gunck on both heads and the block. The pulleys and everything else looks quite OK.
I have not done much investigation, so I have no idea where it’s coming from.
what strikes me as a bit odd is the “everywhere”-part. On top of the heads, on the front of the block.. having a hard time wrapping my head around that.

Anyone else experienced this?
Anyone got any idea where to look for a source?

I’m REALLY sorry for the extremely poor photos, but right now they are all I have.

Nobody else experienced this?
as I wrote in my first post, what really boggles me is the “everywhere”-part

That's is really hard to tell
I would take an hour and try to clean everything.
Then, monitor it.
good luck

Is it safe to clean the engine with descent soap and pressure washer?
I’m considering dry ice blasting, but have heard of problems removing oil-gunck

I've had really good luck with a mild degreaser like Simple Green. Do a mild dilution of 2 water parts water 1 part Simple Green, let it sit for 5-10 minutes then LIGHTLY pressure wash off with a 40 degree washer nozzle.

I’ll give it a go when temperatures rise above freezing on a permanent basis.

If anyone got any suggestions on where to specifically look for oil-leak, it’s greatly appreciated.

Is the car still under warranty? Take it to the dealer if it is.

By the way I clean my entire engine compartment with 2:1 simple green and a medium spray from my garden hose. Works great.

I also was able to slow/stop my oil leaks with LiquiMoly oil saver.

Good luck

No warranty, i do all the wrenching myself.

I might give it a go with the gardenhose first. Afraid the pressure washer can get water places it aint meant to go.

Let the solvents in the simple green do their thing for a few first. Ten or twenty is plenty. If you’re afraid of wetting something important hose off the engine with it running. You’ll know if you’ve done something bad right away.

Good luck
