LPFP rattle

I took my car to the dealership for a rattling noise in the fuel tank and the tech diagnosed a faulty fuel pump. Good news is I don't need to replace the fuel tank, but I'm skeptical about the fuel pump diagnosis - specifically a fuel pump dampener gone bad - can anyone verify there's a dampener inside the LPFP at all? This seems like something that'll be external to the pump and possibly could be purchased separately. I would hate to shell out $1800 just to get the same problem in month

A LPFP is only $600.
External to the pump is a flange seal, the flange itself and then the flange nut to hold it all together.

Why don't you just show that TSB to your dealer?

I did, I sent both releases to him via e-mail. This was his response :
I can't find any info on the socalled fix above, also called Porsche and they have no fuel tank TSB for my car. It makes no sense though, I clearly have the same issue on the exact same model listed in the document.
just showed my technician and he did look in to that document and told me that from your vehicle vin number that document does not go for your vehicle. That being said he did found a different document that recommend to tie the fuel line from the pump to prevent that noise occurring. For that repair it will be $645.00.

Buy the parts and fix it yourself. Get al All Data account and use that along with the TSB instructions. It's not that hard
