Default Any hope for my key fob?

Wife washed my pants with key fob. I let it dry out then put a new battery in it. When I went to use it, it does not open the 2015 Cayenne S. I do get a red dot appearing/falshing on top of the fob. Is it possible it just needs to be reprogrammmed? Or is it toast?

As long as it does not send the Cayenne into a spin! Sorry!

Replace the battery. That’s what the red LED usually means.

I fell off my boat into the ocean with my fob in my pocket. No problem afterwards.

good luck

Mu suggestion:
  • remove the battery asap, do not try a new one.
  • take it apart as much as you can
  • fully dry it out
  • clean the circuit board using a q-tip dipped in iso-propanol to remove any salt traces. If you cant get the PCB out ( i havent tried) then maybe you can wash it in iso-propanol, although that may damage the decal.
  • reassemble and insert new battery - good as new
Reason for all that is to remove all moisture and salt traces which can cause short circuits.
