Default Leather GTS dash lifting…..anyone know what to do?

Found the GTS I want, exactly, go to dealer to see it and get in to drive, and the leather dash is lifting up in spots behind the cluster and passenger side above the AC vent. I told the sales guy if you take care of that 100% I will buy this car immediately.

Has anyone experienced this and dealt with it or repaired it or is this a no go?

Dealer is sending out to repair at specialty shop then we shall see……CPO vehicle so they are hitting everything first then dash, then I’ll decide. Only part I don’t love is PCM 3.1……

I was the one garrett376 linked to; I took the dash out to fix the leather lifting. The only real fix is to replace the leather or replace the dash; the leather lifts since it dries out and shrinks. I conditioned the leather for a couple weeks before trying to repair it and it came out OK. I don't think you can stretch the existing leather back to it original shape. My dash shrunk about 1/2-3/4" on the drivers side and there is a 1/4" gap at the bottom of the a-pillar if you look closely. There are a couple of spots I've glued again since they stated to lift/ bubble. If I was to do it again I would look a for an used dash with minimal shrinkage.

What don't you like about PCM3.1? Mr12volt is a great option for adding Carplay/ Android Auto if that is what it's missing.

I saw the mod for CarPlay looks clean, dunno on that cheesy mic, but what I would be concerned with is removing the stickers showing entry into the PCM, and thus an issue if the dealer ever saw it…..not sure if you’re touching the PCM does warranty go poof. If the leather won’t sit as originally installed I’ll just pass on it. It’ll never be satisfactory and I will be annoyed. Just have to be patient. I may just invest more money in a 911 CPO as they are popping up. Unless I see a really nice 17/18 I’m holding off. I may go non SUV for a while. Not seeing the 17/18 GTS at all.

Car was sent back to the dealer it came from, they wouldn’t CPO it based on the dash.

If you like the car don't point it out next time, Then when it's CPO you get a fully new dash.
