Unhappy 2016 Cayenne GTS Passenger Oil Leak

Did anyone have this issue with a 2016 Cayenne GTS 3.6L V6? Is it just a valve cover gasket or something more serious? The vehicle only has 90,000 km.

Passenger side front of the engine.

Valve cover gaskets are a failure point. Clean it down well with brake cleaner and check the area regularly to confirm.

It may also be the timing chain cover bolt backing out. Both are frequent occurrences. Keep us posted.

Hi guy,
  • Found the problem Broken Aluminum Bolt See photos attached (Only passenger side was broken, driver side was ok and easy to replace). Replaced it with a new updated one non aluminum with a washer from the dealership. Broken bolt can be easily extracted with needle nose pliers.
  • There were also small oil stains around valve cover gasket. I replaced the gasket and the new aluminum bolts. (Note: To take off driver side valve cover gasket you would have yo shift the engine quite a bit to the left.) I used Eye Turnbuckle that i found at the local hardware store.

    Passenger side broken bolt

Thanks for the post.
Do you have the part #'s on the new bolt and washer?
Probably worth replacing as preventive maintenance.
