"downhill assist"
on a steep down hill. press it
you can then set your decent speed with the cruise lever.
think about it kinda like cruise control for down hill

Thanks! That's what I figured but wasn't sure of the exact parameters. Makes me feel a bit better about not having the low range T case.

It shines off-road as slow speeds < 20mph. On trail you dont really want to coast, this prevents you from needing to touch the brakes all the time.

I've only used it on mine once coming down a mountain descent road.
It was really handy but just one of those things that rarely gets used unless you do a lot of mountain adventure driving.
