Default Good Diesel Fuel

I am cautious as to the diesel I put in my tank, and I do use an additive. Diesel in town is no problem, and I will go out of my way to get good diesel, where I know the product is quality and turns over. I am curious as to what CD owners do when on the road. Truck stops like Flying J, Stuckeys, or name brand stations like BP, Chevron, etc?

Great question.

Name brand like BP and always alittle splash of Power Service diesel additive. ALWAYS.
The diesel additive to help with lubricity for the HPFP.
Cayenne has 125,000 miles and doing well. Past Touareg TDI had 150,000 miles with no fuel issues: pump, injectors, etc.

Thus, I'm definitely a believer in reputable stations and a splash of Power Service every fill up.

Top tier diesel (Mobil, Shell, etc.), high volume station (typically on or near highway) and the Power Service additive every fill up. Q7 TDi has 165K on it now.

I am a big fan of Power Service Additive. I wonder if Liquimoly's additive is as good or better?

Farm Project on Youtube.

Topic: "Which diesel additive is best"
He puts multiple additives to multiple tests.

Power Service had consistent good results on all of his tests.

I'm curious about the Liqui Moly diesel additive too.

I do the same; Name brand (Exxon/Mobil is my preference) near the freeway. If the pump runs noticeably slow I move to another station as I’m told this indicates the station is nearing the bottom of their tank where impurities or debris could settle. I tried Power Service winter anti-gel this past winter and my emissions light came on twice in three tanks. I switched to Hot Shots Secret and never had the problem again plus Hot Shots has a nifty measure and pour bottle so no messing with funnels, etc. Just about to hit 120k miles and the engine has all it’s original parts except a serpentine belt and filters. Just changed oil and still see no oil leaks anywhere. For what it’s worth, I never did the diesel emissions fix.
