Thanks for the Hot Shots anti gel recommendation - I don't like the sounds of Power Service triggering check engine light. Yes, the power service is a pain and I suppose it was made for big trucks where you could dump the whole bottle into the tank.

OK, got an alignment today on my Cayenne. Wear on the front passenger tire outside edge was "unusual, so I thought it would be a good idea to have it checked. Here are the results. The (" Camber, Left") number, I was told, should be green.

Should I be concerned about the "Camber, Cross" numbers for the Front Axle?

Default Welcome to Diesel Fuel Additive Politics!

Interesting convo here regarding fuel additives for our new peer. I’ll offer an (apparently contrarian) opinion: Been using Power Service on our (arguably sexier & more modern) straight-6 aluminum block HPCR Twin turbo BMW diesels for 100s of thousands of miles with positive results.

Applied the same regimen to our CD (which also appears common in Touareg crowd) and zero issues (~12,000 miles):
PS Clear Diesel in first tank (and twice a year thereafter
PS Diesel Fuel Supplement in every tank (winter, contains anti gel)
PS Diesel Kleen in every tank (summer)
BG 245 every 2nd oil change

Here is some interesting data (if you’re into that sort of thing): https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/th...ve-test.75658/

Can anyone weigh in on the validity of my alignment specs. Just trying to confirm all is well.

If it is out of alignment; then, the shop should align it.
That is why you brought it to them.

Or, they would have given you advice on a part that needs to be replaced for proper alignment: bad control arm bushing, etc.

I am confused on your above question.

The shop said everything was good. I was just looking to compare my "after alignment" numbers with others who have done an alignment. Sort of bench marking, if you will.

OK, did an oil change today. First time under the Cayenne, so I took a good look around. Looking up into the engine bay, passenger side and looking at the rear of the right side head. I noticed some oil residue. Does anyone have an idea of where it may be coming from? No other signs of oil anywhere else and this one doesn't look bad at all (an annoyance more than anything).

Did you see any drips on the skid plate you took off for the oil change?

Yesterday I started up the car...it had been idle for less than four hours. Current time: 8:15 PM. Clock said 7:00 Clock hands spin clockwise to 9:00. Then back to 8:15. I watched with fascinated horror expecting clock hand (s) to fall off, or come loose, straight at my eyeballs.

If you need one of the latter, I volunteer. Maybe I'll wear a blue dress (as in Devil in a Blue Dress)

What? You were expecting?

Nope, dry as a bone, as was the rest of the underside and around the engine. This was the only area of concern (or is it?).

I see the "misting'' oil residue that you circled.
Under that area looks good. Thus, no dripping oil.
And with a clean skid plate, I would not worry.
Just monitor or watch your electronic oil level for a while.
