Default Another New CD Owner

Picked up a 50k mile 2016 CD 2 weeks ago. Flew to Vegas and drove it back to the PNW. In 2 weeks of ownership I’ve put almost 4K miles on it as we’re now in Denver and about to head home.

Love the new “truck” and look forward to piling on the miles. She runs flawlessly. It looks like she’s using a little oil and I am wondering if that’s to be expected? I’m guessing I’d have to add a quart to get it back to where it was when I picked it up. It was about one level from max and now 1 level from min. I haven’t been light on the right pedal. Into triple digits regularly. Any thoughts?

My P cars. 2013 manual 991 C2S with 90k miles (drive the wheels off it then restore) and the CD.

Peak to Peak Hwy near Boulder.

BFE (somewhere between Ely and Jackpot).

North Cascades Hwy.

Congratulations on your CD! Oil leaks are common. The timing case/block mating surface is defective. If you still have the emissions warranty it should be covered after a little haggling depending on your dealer. The repair is a pull the motor scenario and extremely expensive when not covered by warranty. I am far past the warranty and add a quart every 1800-2000 miles.

Thanks for the response. I’ve poked around and there doesn't appear to be any leaks. I’ll monitor it on the next couple changes.

Drop the splash shields to look. Mine was hitting the shield and I didn’t see it until it got full enough and flowed out.

welcome to the club! They are fantastic vehicles!
