Noticed the seconds hand was missing. Realized it was laying in the bottom of the clock unit.
easy fix. Plastic trim tool to simply pry up the plastic trim piece that holds the clock and unplug.
T-25 to remove the clock, unscrew face, tiny dab of gorilla glue, tweezers hold the seconds hand, press lightly onto the seconds post, done.
Tools needed. Without needle. After glue/replacing.
The problem is not affixing 8t back in place.... the issue is that it will fall off again even with glue, since the heat makes the hand bow up and the larger hands push it off. Also, I've been able to just place it back after syncing all the hands to 12 position, without any glue. It's held up for about 3 years and just fell off again. Maybe I just got lucky it stayed that long. First time it fell off 1 year after I got the clock.

LOL, just a little snip is all it takes. On a serious note, if you plug the clock in at the exact same time as the pcm clock changes, your second hand will be on time with the pcm. It takes a few tries, but it is possible.
Unplugging the clock is how I did mine when it fell off. Also, I think the front glass part just unscrews open without any tools
Yes, I did mine under this lighted magnifying glass I have in the garage. Like I jeweler has. I knew the second hand not being in time with the pcm clock would bug the hell out of me so I spent the extra time getting them in sync.
This is on my spring to do list if I don't upgrade it before spring.
It's a pretty easy job, just a little fiddly. I think I used toe nail clippers. Maybe a 1/16 of an inch is all that's needed. Once you have the needle in your hand you'll see how the end is curled up. Snip just passed the curl. It's not even noticeable once it's all back together. The OP did a good job on his DIY.
Our moderators may want to replace the old DIY with this one. The old DIY is dated. And I don't think you can get new second hands from the manufacturer anymore.
When my car was in the dealer shop to have oil leaks checked out they sent me an estimate for a new clock installed because the second hand was off-$1200. Ha, ha. The hand came off when the car was sitting in their lot waiting for the dieselgate fix or after it was done. Temps in the 90's probably heated the car to 150 or more inside.
I did the fix, but the hand caught on the hour hand and fell off again. So I repaired it once more, this time making sure that the hand was bent towards the clock face, so it wouldn't get caught up on the hour hand again. Was tough to glue back on the second time, but it's holding up so far.
