Default Should I buy this 958.1 GTS

I have the opportunity to buy a 2013 Cayenne with 86k miles. Notable opions (at least to me) are PDCC & sports chrono. 1 owner car that was traded in, full service records. Price is $28k. How many miles can these engines last? Let me know your thoughts. TIA!

You're buying the service history and the care/feeding by the previous owner.

Only the service history, fully examined, and a PPI, absolutely required, can answer this for you. We would just be guessing.

Oh, and by the way, a "service history" isn't sufficient. I helped a friend buy an inexpensive '10 Audi A4 avant last summer and assumed that a full dealer servicing history meant something. We did not actually review what was done at each service, and unfortunately were not able to arrange a PPI prior to purchase.

Evidently, some of the last 50K miles of that service history (car had 175K) went something like this:

Service manager: And you should probably take care of suspension parts/water pump/tensioner/etc
Owner: Thanks, maybe next time

At some point the car was traded in without any of the suggested work actually being done...

It is a nice car...but it cost a bit more than the purchase price...

I was planning on the PPI just trying to get an idea of where the price falls in todays market assuming the PPI checks out. Looking at AutoTrader it seems to be below market, but of course those are asking prices. Thanks for everyone's market insights.

Service where? What was done? Be ready with deep pockets for "sticker- shock" repairs. Some may approach value of vehicle.

most service was done at the dealership. Tire rotations changes and some oil changes were done at an indy.

Sounds good. Do you like the Cayenne? If yes, go for it. If you are hesitant, go with the gut feeling.

When I see and drive my Cayenne, it is always with a smile.

Point A to B, a Toyota Corolla would get you there too. For 1/50 the price. But not with a smile.

That’s a good price if it all checks out. It’s a fantastic vehicle for sure.

Seems reasonable if all checks out. The NA V8 GTS is a lot of fun to drive.

Bought a 13 GTS in Chicago this past December. 69K miles fairly loaded but no pdcc, yes on chrono. Carbon fiber interior parts along with alcantara/leather seating with red stitching etc. Paid $34K. Complete service history from a Pcar dealer. Yours seems well priced based on history.

Beautiful!
Do you have some part numbers for those seatbelts and carbon fiber?
Man, you just made me realize my plain jane black, and aluminum trimmed interior is gauche.

Nationwide there are 8 comps under 100,000 miles and $30,000 right now. That is the best deal on paper out of all of them. Assuming the PPI checks out I think you have a good deal on your hands.

That engine has been proven to last 200,000 miles with proper maintenance and repairs.

I don't know if you should buy it. But if I didn't have mine, I'd buy it.

I bought it like this. Loved the red stitching and red belts. I'm guessing you can go to a PCar dealer and see what they can find. Figure it will be an expensive switch over. Honestly the interior is why I bought it. Wanted a V8 so 13/14 and when I saw this one I drove down to pick it up. Actually prefer the original 955/957 body style but the interior on the 958 is so much nicer.

Quick Reply: Should I buy this 958.1 GTS
