Default Disable IPOD feature?

Hello fellow Rennlisters,

I *just* upgraded my '04 Cayenne Turbo for a 2013 version and am still learning my way around the new rig. One issue I'm having is with BlueTooth Aux. It pairs and functions fine for both the phone and audio streaming, but the min I plug my phone in to charge, it it disables the BT streaming media feature and flips to IPOD, which it's incapable of reading with my iPhone 12 Pro.

Is there a way to disable the IPOD feature so that I can keep the power charging feature without loosing BT streaming?

Thanks in advance!

PS- i tried searching the forums but couldn't find anyone dealing with this issue.

I have a similar issue on my '13 Q7 TDi. When my iPhone is connected via cord and bluetooth, I get a message that multiple connections aren't allowed. On the Q7 I just dismiss the message and all is good. I think it has to do with licensing.

If you need to charge the phone, then perhaps just use the 12 volt plug to charge.

Yeah, that's my last resort. I was hoping someone had either experienced this issue and come up with a more eloquent solution, or had a means to disable that feature from the user interface.

So I've figured out another option, which I'm in the process of executing on now. As it turns out, there are USB adapters that will block data communications. I found this solution, which also provides some other nifty features. Will update with results once it's delivered.

Seems more complicated than just plugging in (or wiring in) a simple 12 volt adapter.

Same issue with bmw cic. Use a 12v to usb charger. They are also faster to charge the phone.
