Are you sure thats what the recall is talking about? That's the head light release thing. You use the tool in the trunk and do a quarter turn to pop the entire headlight assembly out.

you are correct, I was in a rush and didnt realize it. these should be correct Vertical adjustment port hole UN-capped adjustment screw
I just had my 2013 smoged and it came up with a headlight recall for a gasket or something. The dealer said it just came out and it will be addressed when I take the car in for an oil leak.
Got same said letter. Don't think I'm going in though.. if they work fine, why fix em?
If you have inspections in your area you might need to get it done. My understanding is that the horizontal adjustment should not be user-adjustable per DOT, and that is the reason for the recall. We don't have inspections here so I'm not going to worry about it.

So much for free country... what if I want to see the bunnies on the side of the road at night?
Is the circled thing the adjustment? Is it missing the cap? What does the cap look like?
No way I'll waste hours taking it in for something so ridiculous, but maybe I can get some caps from them. This is a 2011 Pana4 but nothing is on Pana forums.
I was not going to waste time on this recall, but a very knowledgeable Porsche person told me it was more about water leaking into the headlight than beam alignment. He said it happened on Cayennes more than Panas, but he had seen on both. When I took to the dealer, they also said it was primarily about water leaks. Here is a picture of the white plug they added. I don't know if they did anything else, but it took an hour. anb4 recall plug on 2011 Pana4
