I replaced the PDLS headlights of my 2012 Cayenne S about 2 years ago.
But the right headlights housing is not properly aligned with the body, there is a slight gap, as if the headlights sits too deep.
Is there a way to adjust the headlight alignment?
That's not a "headlight alignment" as such as that phrasing is specific to the beam output, and that beam alignment is done with rotary adjustments inside the housing even with PDLS, and I had to do this to make sure the PDLS was aligning correctly. You're specifically looking for a "headlight housing adjustment".
Make sure that the engagement with the body catch (that thing the release tool operates on) is correct. I've seen this come loose on mine. Also, make sure there isn't any foreign body between the headlight housing and the steel as something at the front will lever the back in the down direction when the cam catch operates.
How to adjust the housing relative to the body if you absolutely had to? Try shimming with plastic (e.g. PET from bottles) at the contact points the headlight housing has with the body, if the catch engagement is operating as expected. Then trim and glue in place on the headlight housing.
My suspicion is that the alignment between the headlight and the release catch is not correct.
Thanks, so I checked both headlamps and the the body catch angles and movement seems identical left & right. However under the headlamp housing, the plastic "hock" which snaps into the body catch is adjustable, albeit only front & rear. It helped a bit but now I have to replace one headlamp Lock Support Bracket - 95863119402. They do get brittle next to the radiator...
