Default PDCC hum / whine. Is there a fix?

Hey all, brought a 2015 cayenne turbo a few weeks ago and it is making the dreaded PDCC humming / whining noise (similar to the attached video).

I’ve searched the net but haven’t seen any definitive fix.

Am I stuck with this noise for as long as I keep the car??

One member said to check the hose clamp around the oil filter location since many oil change service centers will remove that bracket to change the oil filter. Follow the hose out and look for locations it is rubbing other parts of the vehicle.

It could also be the steering pump which are notoriously noisy.

My PDCC/power steering pump were a little noisy before I did a fluid change and reservoir replacement. I also added some RVS technologies snake oil at the same time as new Pentosin CHF202 hydraulic oil. After about a week I noticed a much quieter pump. I mostly attribute it to the fluid change, but can't discount the unicorn tears from RVS.

I had the dealer replace the power steering pump which did not solve the issue unfortunately.

Probably a dumb questions: can I get the whole PDCC system taken out / turned off?

Of what snake oil do you speak?

I replaced the fluid and filter and it didn't make much difference...

Anyone else brave enough to try?

I feel your pain, the hum is SO annoying. I don't have PDCC but the power steering whine / hum is disgusting.

I hope to do a fluid flush soon to see if it will at least help reduce the noise.

Thats the goop. Would be fun to increase the sample size beyond my own experience.

My 2011 S had this problem when I purchased it with 100k miles. It was really noticeable, passengers would always ask "What is that noise?". Everyone I talked to assured me it was "normal" operation. After 10-15k miles, i had a leak where the hoses are near the sway bar hydraulic coupling unit and discovered one of the lines had rubbed and worn thru due to not being properly mounted with the rubber stand offs (prior owner or shop had used zip ties to secure the line.

After replacing the hydraulic hose, installing the correct rubber standoffs, and fluid change, i can't hear it AT ALL - IT'S silent!

same problem here - no pdcc - i replaced fluid and reservoir...no change - looked at hose routing and can't find anything missing or not attached - i used a stthoscope and on mine the whine is definitely in the larger hose that runs to the reservoir - you can feel it vibrating with your hand - this is the single most annoying thing about this car - sounds like a 70's oldsmobile with no PS fluid - i was considering replacing that hose but i'm not sure it will change anything - might try the RVS

Did that fix the humming noise entirely?
