Has anyone found a good scale model 958? I've done some searching and have found both older and newer, but just one 958 model, a lime green 1/18 GTS. Looks like a decent model, but you can't really tell until you're holding it...
I was tracking a couple of 2012 958 Turbos 1/18 on eBay. I hesitated because they were shipping from China and I've had some really slow deliveries when going that route. All the models sold out and I have not found any more since. I guess I should have just bitten the bullet and done it. Now, the 2017's are all over eBay.
Interestingly it was a Minichamps with a lot of good detail. I had found another site that listed a 1/12 Minichamps, but with less detail (no front side markers), different wheels, and a sketchy looking finish. Like it was a knockoff...
Yes, the Minichamps was the one I was following. And, they did sell out just a couple of weeks ago. If you find a stash of them somewhere, please message me. I need this one to add to my collection.
I've got a couple of AutoArt models, a racing 996 and a Cayenne. I probably should pick up a nice clean aircooled 911 model, perhaps a 964, or a red '82 911 SC (the first Porsche I ever drove!).
The gt spirit gts I’ve been looking for but I don’t want to pay 300 for a model that costs 85 originally. Maybe 150-175. Oh well. I’d also repaint it to my former gts exterior color
So...the Minichamps 958 just arrived. It's very nice. Box says only 1500 were made, so if you want one, grab it when you see it.
I was disappointed in the Solido 964 and have sent that on to a friend who isn't quite as discriminating in his scale model cars. His 997 TT, on the other hand...
And I bought a Minichamps 964. Looks very similar to the Solido above, with better paint, more detail, and different wheels. Haven't actually gotten my hands on it yet, but I think it's a keeper.
The Solido, by the way, was very reasonably priced on the Museum of Modern Art website. I think it might have been a closeout.
