Question Lost all Bluetooth

Please save me from the wrath of a peeved off Porsche owning husband.
2014 Cayenne Turbo S recently new to us. Successfully connected two phones via Bluetooth, made/received calls on both. Also streamed music via Bluetooth Aux. Then a day later as the car was starting up, I touched a few buttons and somehow lost Bluetooth completely. Husband swears he saw a different screen that I button smashed too fast thru. Any button having to do with Bluetooth is greyed out. Activating Bluetooth does nothing, Find Telephone does nothing. It's like the Bluetooth module got fried or disabled somehow. Is that even possible? AUX/USB/CD/SAT/FM all work. We have forgotten PCM on phone, rebooted, did a PCM refresh, tried every button combo including put a CD in to get to the DISC sub menu. Looked a fuse diagram, didn't see anything obvious to check. Please tell me this isn't a hard drive issue. Anyone have a thought before I grit my teeth and bring to dealer (or get divorced )? Thanks!

Do not fret, there is a solution for this. There's a better post around with pics, but here's how you do it (short bad directions version)

You HAVE TO HAVE A CD IN for this to work.
Press options
There should be several "options" to select that will show on your input screen
make sure the one that Says BT or whatever is selected.

Problem solved (I hope!)

edited to add that MAYBE your problem is bigger than this, though, because it looks slightly different than what I was "solving" for you...

Thanks Danno. That was one of my paths. CD in, options to get to sub menu, anything BT related is either greyed out or not there. So yes, I think my problem is bigger than this.

ok, lets see what's going on.

The first step is to see what your standing volts are at. If they are low, then your PCM is going to randomly act up. You'll need a new battery or a full charge on existing battery. If they are normal, then let's go to the fuse box on the passenger side of the vehicle. The fuse to pull to remove power from the PCM is Fuse #51.

I had an issue and a new battery solved everything. You state, "Recently new to us" tells me that the battery could be low as it's probably been sitting on a lot for a bit. Maybe a charge will do the trick. In fact, maybe a charger hooked up to the battery will do the trick to get the PCM back up and running and you can see if a low battery is the issue.

Hoping it's not something fried in the PCM and highly doubt it is.

Good luck and please post up the outcome of your issue. And tell your husband, "It's just a car. No big deal".

Ok, I will check volts when car gets back. Never thought it being related to battery. Great feedback. Will also pop fuse 51. I am quite adept at Porsche fuse popping. Already had to deal with the sunroof "unlearning" process. Gak.

Volts 14.2 while driving. Will check standing volts next, assuming that means voltage before turning on ignition. Next step, yank that fuse.

Those 14.2 volts.... Is that in sport mode? Should only be 13.6 to 13.7 in non sport mode.

Could be just a tad higher right after starting and driving until the battery is topped off, then it should normalize in that lower range.

Assuming yes to Sport mode as husband was driving but will confirm. Will check "cold" and non-sport mode driving

Here is update - we have yanked fuse and tried everything above. Took car to dealer for transfer case warranty replacement (yay!) and had them look at BT issue.
See snip of report. This absolutely makes no sense to me. Everything worked and then I pressed some button combo and BT is gone. Nothing else is impacted. Is it a PCM hard drive issue? Some other module? Can anyone help? $3k for new PCM just seems wrong.

There must be used ones out there. $3k is crazy expensive. Here are a couple on Ebay, but I am not sure if they are compatible. Don and RAudi probably could weigh in.

I am willing to clone the hard drive to a new SSD but I fear that cloning is just copying over that fault.

I've seen posts from users of early PCM3.1 units (IDE drive units) where the bluetooth disappeared with faulty hard drive. They replaced the drive and then ran the software update dvd.
So if all else fails, try running the PCM3.1 update dvd and see if that resolves the issue...

If I am reading the service report correctly, I think that is what the dealer did already. See snip above. They did a hard reset of PCM and then reprogrammed PCM to vehicle. BT fault still there. You think a new SSD would accept the programming?
