I’m calling the dealership tomorrow, but until then, does anyone know the part number for a base 2012 Cayenne driver’s seat lower heater. Ours was confirmed bad by a Porsche dealership (completing a TC repair) and we left the repair out when we closed on the deal with the non-Porsche dealership that we purchased from.
I have a local upholsterer who will do the job for me at an acceptable rate. I told him I’d source the part.
careful exploration had me end up with
958-653-043-00 for the driver’s rear and
958-653-043-10 for the driver’s front
BUT, suddenly it asks me to confirm my vehicle on most websites and I’m being told that front is NOT compatible with my model and only is available for the hybrid or something.
starting fresh on the sunset site for example, by selecting 2012->cayenne->base->electric->heated seats
I’m not seeing ANYTHING for the front. So now I’m all confused. Does anybody have advice on this?
dealership Quoted something around $1100-1200 for the fix. 5-6 hours and the part seem about right for the dealership. My (extremely competent automotive upholsterer) guessed 5-6 hrs before I told him what the dealership said and quoted me labor rates less than a third of what the Porsche dealership wants. Easy decision for me and helps keep a local small business open.
Highly recommend a subscription to http://www.alldatadiy.com/ . Sometimes it is a prescription!!! You can printout the appropriate procedure for the seat and hand it to you upholsterer as a reference.
Here are the part numbers for my 2011 S. When you look it up at one of the Porsche dealer's online parts site (usually discounted!) you can see "What This Fits".

yep, and that part listed has my base as a vehicle that it fits. Shows a nice picture of the rear seat and a diagram number. So, what’s the front seat element number? THAT’s what I’m not finding.
When I run that number through a Porsche dealer's parts online site, it comes back as valid for the front left seat. Never been down this road, although I am getting ready to install two aftermarket heater seaters intothe trusty Camry.
It might be worth a call to your dealer's parts department with your VIN and see what their system shows.

yeah, that’s my plan. The service dept that gave us the quote should have the part listed, so my plan is to call them.
