Time to change motor oil. Think to move from Mobil1 0W40 to 5W40. What is your opinion? Mobil, Ravenol, Castrol.....or ? Reason to move from 0W40 is that I think the oil is too thin for the summer. Maybe 5W40 is better?

mix Mobil 0w40 and 5w50.

I think 5.5 quarts of 5w50 and 4qts (or whatever yours needs to get to the right level) of 0w40.

And before anyone asks, yes you can mix them, causes no issues, helps a bit with the sheardown that the 0w40 experiences, and no, the 5w50 is not available in a 5 gallon jug, so its a bit more expensive.
