Not all emblems are created equal
Just ordered two new Porsche emblems for the Cayenne and Gt3.
they are different. Looks like my 997 GT3 has a 996 part number. The 958 Cayenne has a 997 part number and the new ones I ordered, for each car, from Porsche, are 991 part numbers
I like the 996 part number that’s stock for the 997 GT3. It’s heavier and has a deeper relief area.

I've had a silver OEM version that I've been dying to get on my GT3
I'm 2 GT3s later and it's still in the drawer...

Interesting... based on the pics, I agree with you about the 996 part number looking nicer. Emblem on my 2011 CS was also peeling and I have a replacement from Circle sitting in the garage yet to be installed (darn speed nuts). I should check to see if the new emblem from them is also a 991 part number. Thanks for sharing!

Good timing, I need to do this as well. I agree, the 996 badge looks the highest quality, seems like a funny place for Porsche to try and safe a few pfennig.
Anyone actually done the replacement? I have on my 944 but don't recall if there were speednuts or plastic bushings (I get it confused between Porsche & BMW).

May RAudi can confirm, but I was assuming speednuts based on this post from 6speed - https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...placement.html
Not sure if those nuts are reusable though. If not, I'll need to grab another pair somewhere.

Ok, I purchased two emblems. Input one car in to the Porsche parts computer and threw the badge in the cart, then did the same for the Cayenne and both parts were the same with the same part number. That being said, all the emblems are the same, with the studs in the same places. They all use speed nuts, And when you screw the nuts on the new badges, they create threads as the new studs on the back of the badges are just unthreaded posts.
The 996 badge looks a little curved but it just might be an illusion.
I purchased new speed nuts and one lost the rubber backing. It crumbled when I went to use it so I just reused the old ones, which work perfectly. You don' need new nuts but they are so cheap, may as well just order them.
