Default HVAC Blower Motor

When I first got Piggie (2011 Turbo with 15k odo), I would blast the AC and everyone would be blown away at how strong and cold the ac was. Flash forward 4 years and I recently thought back at how I would have to turn down the AC. Not anymore! Coldest setting, max AC button pushed and it was cold but not to the point where anyone would make those previous comments.

I decided to get a new blower motor from Rock Auto, $150. Arrived Friday and I installed this a.m. Needless to say, night and day difference. I'm sure a bunch of Rennlisters don't realize that their HVAC isn't working as well as it was designed to work. I didn't realize it until I thought about it. Everyone told me, "It feels fine to me".

Anywhoo, on to the pics and two videos. The VDO unit fro Rock Auto is identical to the stocker. Both made by Bosch in Hungary and both have the same stampings. Don't waste your money on anything else. This Rock Auto part, well......ROCKS!

Did the same thing within a week of picking up my CS. Made a huge difference, and was happy to find an OE part without the Porsche markup.

That is a huge difference Ed. You have big cajones holding that thing in your hand and running it WFO. Could you imagine that thing zinging around the inside of your car if you accidentally dropped it? You had to feel the gyroscopic effect in your hand.

I'll say...I ordered the $134 part, but was sent the wrong unit, when I sent it back, in the interim I just ordered like a $40 equivalent off eBay just to see...and it's been working so good that I'll just replace it when it dies.
