Default Question on Start Stop

I'm a serial 955 Cayenne owner, S, Turbo, Turbo S and another Turbo S. When I sold the first TTS just out of CPO I regretted it so badly in a few months that I bought another one and have looked back. Current TTS has 137k miles and looks perfect. But nothing lasts forever. I'm constantly shopping later Turbo S examples. Anything is on the table, 2010, 2014, 2016. There's a 2014 out there right now, so on topic here, I hate Start-Stop. Hate it. I realize there's a button to turn it off on most vehicles. I think it's a sport mode button on the Cayenne? Does anyone know of a way to program it out or otherwise have it just not come on every time you start? I realize manufacturers have to leave in on by default for CAFE, but I've heard tell on some other cars of like an OBD2 setting to have the car default to last known settings on startup. Something like this would work fine. Anybody have any experiences? Thanks in advance.

2014 is 958.1 - I believe if you turn it off it stays off unlike 958.2

It stays in whatever position you last left it. Mine stays off. 2014 S.

Own a 2014 CTTS

Turn off start stop and stays off and in same configuration when you start the car back up. No need to involve sport mode on my car.

Agree with comment above

On another note - when it’s on, does that mean the light is red? Should I see a yellow icon on my screen? I recall seeing it before but now it doesn’t show up at all

One of the reasons I don’t want to trade my 14 GTS for a newer one - I hate that feature and can’t believe you have to turn it off every single time you get in the car in the new ones. No way it saves enough gas to make a difference, no matter what anyone says.

Now this has me back on the fence thinking about the upgrade now. If I do it now, I can still get $13-14k out of my current Turbo S. What has me on the fence is the styling, a little anyway. I like the front end of the '14 but the tail lights not so much. And best I can tell it's no faster than the 957. But if the '14 TTS is the newest I can get without permanent Start Stop annoyances, that's the year I'm getting eventually, now or later. Curious how resilient the 958 is to a stage 3 racechip tune. Need to do some searching on that. If I can chip it to get the kind of upgrade I want out of a next daily driver, that matters.

Don’t fuss about that. Just get the attached memory module.

i just hit the sport button every time I get in the car anyway and that turns off the auto start/stop. Not a big deal as I drive in sport all the time unless I’m just cruising on the highway, but would be nice if retained the last setting.
