I just bought a 2016 e-hybrid today for my wife. Way more excited about it than I should be, haha. Been a while since I sold my 997 turbo, I forgot what nice cars Porsche makes. Just hoping I get lucky and the CPO follows the truck despite buying from a non-Porsche dealer.

Yeah, the main thing would be the enhanced PCM infotainment center. Better screen with a more sophisticated UI, support for carplay, etc. With a bit of work you can add carplay/android auto via aftermarket units, or even replace the screen with a larger one which runs Android if you're feeling adventerous.
But yes, 2016 is a solid year. You get to benefit from the refresh and all the subsequent enhancements and improvements to reliability. Only things to really watch out for are transfer case issues (not as much of a concern if you're CPO), and if you get the S or GTS you'll want to ensure the turbos are functionining properly. The initial version of the engine management software improperly detected knock and retarded timing, reducing power output. This is addressed via an update.
