Latest Porsche PCM Firmware Version Numbers
There seems to be frequent questions as to "do I have the latest Porsche Control Module firmware?" We're adding this sticky so that people are able to easily reference what is the latest and greatest version:
The latest is v4.76 if you are on v4.xx.
The latest is v3.43 if you are on v3.xx.
The latest is v2.47 if you are on v2.xx.
You can check your version by holding the Source and Info buttons simulteansouly, as in this video:
There are hardware differences between the above versions, meaning that if you're running 2.xx, you can't upgrade to 3.xx or 4.xx.
These updates are independent of any navigation map updates; that is a separate system and update DVD which is typically quite expensive.
You can purchase a new DVD from your local dealer for around $250, which is part # WKD-952-800-17. It is the same DVD for all versions (2.xx-4.xx). It can also be easily purchased here. The update process is as simple as switching your ignition on (the engine isn't necessary) and inserting the DVD, at which point you will be prompted to install the update. This requires approximately 15 minutes, at which point the system will automatically reboot. Ensure that the ignition is not turned off during the update process.
