Question Comfort lighting package - settings ? & light part numbers?

So I have the Comfort lighting package in my 2014 CD & love the idea of the foot well lighting but have two

questions / issues

  1. I cannot figure out the selection to have the lighting on/off WITHOUT the dome light on? (the dome light is dimmed but still would be nicer to be off) Maybe this is a custom code configuration option?
  2. bulbs question ? does anyone have the part number list of all the lighting bulbs used? I would like to change / standardize the hue of these interior footwell lights.

After a bit of research, not clear if the "Comfort lighting package" was actually required for the foot-well lighting or if it just added some...

:::

Comfort lighting package

This package includes dimmable ambient lighting in the door panels and roof console, practical LED reading lights for the rear passengers, exterior mirrors featuring additional courtesy lights on the driver and front passenger sides, and a second 12-volt socket in the rear centre console.

I believe most the bulbs are 194 / W5W bulbs

You need CANBUS type bulbs or they may not work correctly.

Something like this: https://genssi.com/194-168-w5w-t10-l...s-thin-2-pack/

Do you know the VW part # you installed?
was it this one ?

5G0 947 409
5G0947409

what did you pay?

New question:
What is the setting for the door light strip on the elbow door handle areas? I have it (the option), it was working but now for the life of me cannot get it to turn back on? I searched the online manual and cannot find it. (I will search the printed manual next)

http://www.porscheownersmanuals.com/...le-of-contents

It seems odd that both lights (drivers & passenger) side would go out. I think I just pressed / configured a strange combo of press? (maybe?)

anyone figure this out? this still bothers me to this day.... I cannot be the only one

How do you have your interior footwell lighting on
WITHOUT the dome light on?
(the dome light is dimmed but still would be nicer to be off)
Maybe this is a custom code configuration option?

I "think" its in the interior lighting menu on your dashboard (% up/down) but I just checked it was not working for me.... maybe a fuse went out? meh...
but the light is sooo dim, its on my long list of when I take off my door card, figure out the p/n and see if it can be replaced / swapped for something brighter, more dimming options & an clear on/off switch

again, I cannot be the only one who thought hey this light is dim, lets replace it.... but with what part?

My front doors don't light at all. The rears are dim, as you describe. I played with the dimming function, over and over, with no change on the doors. I'm assuming the LEDs are bad. Interested if you find a PN and get this done.

if my memory is correct I believe you also (after you have checked the % in the menus in your dashboard (not the PCM)
then HOLD the overhead button in front of the sunroof to turn the leds in the armrests up/down
even at the brightest setting, they are pretty dim
there has to be a p/n or aftermarket something for this, this is nuts

That was the exact process I did. Still no light.

When should the door armrest lights be illuminated? Are they lit only when the dome light is turned on? When a door is opened? When the headlights are on?

Are the rear doors also equipped with these lights?

I can’t say I’ve ever noticed them (but I do have the comfort lighting package if the description above is correct).

there is a % setting for interior lights within your dashboard trip computer, make sure that is set
the issue is these armrest lights are pretty dim even when working, as they seem to have a mind of their own

i am almost positive this armrest light are going to need to be replace with some sort of aftermarket solution

I have dug thru a workshop manual about removing the door but oddly could not find anything on this light (maybe I am looking at the wrong one)
ideally, I would like

1) the interior armrest part #(s)
2) see a picture of this light part(s) outside of the door (it has to be a strip or something....)
3) find a replacement that is brighter
4) if the solution can work with the OEM switches great, but if not fine...

IIRC, the armrest lights only go on with the U shaped dome light. There is a button on the overhead console that you hold down to make the U shaped dome light AND the arm rest lights get dimmer or brighter. They work in tandem, at least on my CS. So, there is no way to make the arm rest lights brighter without also making the U shaped dome light brighter. At least on my CS.
