Default How long does the clutch on Cayenne last?

What is the average life for a clutch on Cayenne ? I have over 108K miles on 2012 Cayenne and was advised I may need a clutch soon. Is there a way to check the current state or is it just how you feel ?

Are you referring to a manual transmission or automatic?

It will depend almost entirely upon the driver's skills with using a clutch.IF you don't really understand the principles it might last 50k miles. Treat it right and it might last 200k miles.

Is there a measure to check the status. For tires, there is tread, brakes has mm left on it. Any measurable parameter to check ?

I wish I had a manual transmission. I know that Porsche manufactured them, but I've never even seen a manual Cayenne. I'd love to drive one.

Unless you take it apart, no.
Just drive it and enjoy it. You'll feel when it's not good (clutch will engage very late, you might feel slipping and it might smell). Replacement is nothing spectacular and relatively cheap as with almost all manual cars.

Manual Cayenne is not as common specially in US. It's fun to drive.

Thanks. So far it doesn't do anything abnormal. Compared to the clutch on my 911, it is lighter and does seem to engage late but doesn't feel like its slipping.

Late and high engagement is Audi-ish. Mine is like that too, it's normal. Mine is 72Km (45K miles) and it's fine. I know, it's not a lot but maybe someone should chime in.

For whatever it's worth, I have 63k mi on my 2012 and still have not had to replace the clutch.

I do a lot of downshiftin live in and around NYC. (traffic)

I didn't need to change my front brakes for over 50k mi.

My transfer case just failed.
