Was Apple Car Play first offered in 2017 on the Cayenne?
and did it come standard or was it a option?

It is on my 2017 S and I don't recall seeing it as a listed item on the option's sheet.,,,,

Yes, first offered in 2017 with PCM 4.0, and CarPlay was an option offered in the Connect and Connect Plus option packages.
