Finally down to 2 tires choices. Which one would you recommend? mostly city and highway driving.

my buddy had the Pirellis and was unhappy. He suggested the contis, which will likely be what I go with.

Do you know what his main complaint was?

I had both the DWS and the Verde Plus. I had found both of them to work well in the dry, the wet and the snow.

The only thing, with both tires is that they only lasted about 25,000 miles.

Next set I get, I will be going with a cheaper set and see if I get the same 25,000 miles out of them as we put a set of Cooper Discovery H/T on her 2015 Touareg TDI. I might go with the same tires as they have been great on her truck so far.

20" tires are going to wear fast no matter. My 19" Verdes is 7/10th after 15K miles so its a 40-50K mile tire and relatively quiet.

Have you checked tirerack.com for choices? I just bought new tires there and had them shipped to a Firestone dealer 1 mile from the house, for my 2010 Base. Even came with a 2 year road hazard warranty. Firestone mounted and road force balanced including disposal and taxes, for $95. I could not beat that anywhere locally and I am in Dallas area. tirerack has some excellent choices.

The 20" Pirelli Verde AS+ on my Cayenne are FAR from noisy. They're getting fairly close to the wear bars with probably about 25-30k on them, but they've been excellent. The conti's have a lower treadwear rating (560 vs. the 740 on the Verde +, and 600 on the Verde), so I wouldn't expect them to last as long, but they're also in the "ultra-high performance" category, while the Pirelli's are listed in "Touring".

Tire Rack has the older Verde AS (2015 production) on closeout for $138 each in the 20" size, just FYI.

I'm kinda leaning that direction. don't know why my car wears them out so fast.

that was the plan, either Firestone or Sam's club since they have $80 off Pirelli.

I have the Verde's and think they are a great tire for this vehicle. I should get 45K easy on these. Just keep them balanced and rotated. I also use 40 PSI front vs. the 37 recommended. If and when I wear these out I'll be another set.

I have the Verde's. They're fine in my book. Should see 40-45K from them.
