Default Front sensor warning?

I was stopped at a light yesterday and all of a sudden the front right sensor started going off - and it started filling the area in yellow(on screen), then it suddenly said unavailable before going back to normal...
anyone encountered this? Sensor going out?

Has happened to me before (2014 CTTS; 43K miles). Very infrequently and no definite pattern though I seem to remember snow/ice being a factor once and for a while I tried to use a tow-hook mounted front license plate frame that didn't play well with the front sensors.

Sensors work fine otherwise and since it's so infrequent, I just fuggeddaboutit.

Interesting, I use a front tow hook license plate frame - but it’s been on for a while. Not gonna worry about it till it dies I guess

I bet a Ford was in front of you. My old 13 CTT use to do that every time we were behind a ford and got a little to close. I think the back up sensors on Ford vehicles are always on and the cause havoc with the Cayenne.

I’ve had this happen a few times. Pretty sure it was a Ford Escape or the like each time.

I get the sensor going off in stopped and stop-and-go traffic, and it's almost always from a nearby Ford. But I've never seen any errors about it being unavailable.

I have a front tow hook plate also and my sensor also goes off randomly sometimes, will try and remember next time if I'm near a Ford also.

I have the same issue and every single time I am behind a Ford - could be a truck or a Fusion or whatever, but it seems to send out a signal that my sensors pick up. I always laugh when it happens and I look up to see a Ford in front of me - without fail.
