Red face Unreal mileage of 36 mpg!!

Hi, first long trip on my '15 CD. Tried hyper-mile'ing by keeping speed to ~60-65 mpg and got an astounding 36 mpg!! (see photo). Am baffled that this is ~5000lb SUV with 4 passengers. Not sure if the car is post-fix or not. If not, will doing a fix screw up the diesel mileage?

Trip mileage isn't really the best indicator imo. I usually will do calculations based off my mileage from gas tank fill to gas tank fill and work off that instead of the computer. Though that is good however!

Yes.

With the right conditions, these diesels get GREAT mileage.
Love ours.

Congratulations

And I thought i was doing well with 14MPG on the CTT! LOL! The ol' 955 would get 11... towing the track car dropped it to about 8.5. Oh well... gas is cheap.

This is great, this 3.0L diesel motor, designed or built by who?, Audi? Breathed on by Porsche? In any case . . .

I had gotten on the highway today. Over 1 hour, averaged 77 mph and got 30.2 as indicated by the trucks onboard SuperComputer, that is right around 1.0 mpg optimistic-LookingOnTheBrightSide(LOTBS)-of things.

Either way, hand calculate it or whatever. For our 5,000 lb trucks, to get 29 mpg or maybe 28 mpg, averaging 77 mph, is pretty incredible because like Gasoline, Diesel is cheap and even 26 mpg, or 27 mpg, or 28 mpg, it is all so excellent. Who really cares what it might cost, we are not walking, are we?

With my 16 diesel(with the fix) we routinely get 33-37 mpg on the highway. Just did a 6 hour drive and averaged 34, with some city/side street driving. Its an awesome vehicle.

Twice
Once on wifes Touareg TDI and once on her 2016 Cayenne diesel, we were able to hit 800 miles on the fuel range.
The 800 range usually occured during the summer on LONG trips.
Just amazing vehicles
