First trip MPG CD
Just finished our first major road trip with our CD.....Wow!
3266 round trip miles, total of 4 1/4 tanks of Diesel for the total trip, Averaged 36.4 MPG and 76 MPH average. Most mileage we got per tank was 776 miles on one tank and light came on so we could have pushed 800 easy.
We have had Mercedes Diesels in the past (S Class models) and got good mileage but not like this.

The CD, and the Touareg TDI, and the 3.0L V6 turbo diesel motor are just simply incredible. There is a very good reason why VW cheated for the motor, what that reason is, I don't know other than to have them buy back my 2012 Touareg TDI so I could get a 2016 CD is all I can think of.
I had done roughly the same round trip when we had gone from MA to FL and back and had used right around the same amount of fuel as to make the calculation very simple, 30 mpg, 3,000 miles is 100 gallons of fuel. All in a perfectly sized, very strong and safe, 5,000 lb vehicle that can tow 7,700 lbs. I love my CD. If there were a buyback of some sort, I got a letter from the local Porsche dealership-the same one everyone gets, where they want to buy ones vehicle, I would not sell it back as there is no motor like the diesel motor that the made for us.
