I was thinking about adding thsese too. My G500 has them and I'd like to add them to my Cayenne. What is involved in the install? Where do they get power from?

Default Delaer installed mine

Guys,

My dealer installed mine, it was fairly quick. They actually didn't charge me for labour as they fitted the wrong tires to the car so it had to go back. I like them they look really nice in the dark, especially now that winter is upon us!

First remove the old sill. just stick a screwdrive under the metal and it pops up. Then remove the 2 hex screws that are holding the plastic sill down.
You can't remove this hole piece, just pop it out from the front area. You just need to drill a hole in this corner.. so lift it while your drilling.. the wire runs through this drilled hole

Get some double sided tape and put this little box in the second to last box..

Run the supplied wire up into the fuse box area.. then over to the footwell light

Now I got power from the entry lights underneath the steering wheel..
The book has you tapping into other sources in the door harness, but this was much easier..

I spliced into the footwell light under the wheel here

Hide all the wires and your finished!!

That is about it.. for the passanger side.. do the same thing and tap into the footwell lighting..

I wrapped some foam around the voltage reducer box to avoid that it would rattle inside the little box.

Michael, Yea I noticed that when I popped the fuse box open.. I ended up running the wire from the FM modulator over to that same fuse.. It was easier then I thought. Is that where you plugged yours into?

Kevin
Thanks for the instructions I can see the footwell lights and have been
able to pop them out but I am unsure wether to remove the under fascia
panel if so how? and also I cannot see the fuse panel you refer to is it on drivers or passenger side and is it under the fascia or vertical on the footwell? also do I get ground and live from the footwell lamp or ground elsewhere as both cables to lamp are brown? My car may be different as
wheel is on right!

James, no problem..
First off the fuse box is on the drivers side, its on the side where the round vent is, it just pops out.. basically the side of the whole dash. Yes you can get ground from the brown wire on the footwell lamp. On the passanger side the bottom panel is held in by one hex screw in the middle, just unscrew that and pull down, it pops right out..

Kevin
Thanks for your help
I completed the job in about 2 hours
They look great
Do you have any instruction for removing the front bumper/fender to
install a silver crest?
Also did you notice that the carpet is a poor fit and short on the passenger
side during instal or this may be peculiar to RHD cars?

Great James!! Glad I could help.. Sorry I don't have any instructions on removing the bumper, I had my dealer do it.. Let me see if I can get you a PDF on removing it. I didn't notice the carpet being short maybe its a RHD thing...
