Default Air suspension error message

Ever since I had to go from the usual "low" mode to a "high" mode because of heavy rains, the cluster keeps beeping and displaying a "suspension error - workshop" message.

Anyone know how bad this is (besides the annoying beep) and can the car be safely driven until I can get to a dealer sometime next week?

Not very happy with Porsche right now...

Did you get to high with the steering wheel stalk or between the seats?

Is the high for off road (max 19mph?)

Is the speedo menu display synchronized with the between the seats display arrows?

I had to use stalk to go up & down

BTW, If you continue to drive with that condition - you will have high stomach acid, buyers remorse and curse.

Try this, standard system reset first.

key in, turn to "on". do NOT crank the engine,
leave for at least 30 seconds.

Turn off.
remove key.

Step 2 start engine, hold center susp switch down for 30 seconds ( I am told this turns off the air suspension.

Now hold it up for the same, turns it back on.

Now everything should be back at default.

Thanks Torags,

Didn't even know there was a wheel stalk control for this, using the between-the-seats dial, I hit it upwards two or three times (from low) as I approached the standing water. In traffic, so must have been < 10 mph.

You are not kidding! This am, in addition to having to wake up extra early I had to take my 15 yr old daughter to sat. school... as if it wasn't enough for the beeping going off every 9 seconds, the continuous followup after every single bell: "why is your car doing that?" and "why don't you fix it" and "doesn't it bother you" drove me nuts!!!

Mud, thanks, I'll try that reset first thing am tomorrow! I guess I should pull the E&D plastic key off and use the real one to make sure it takes.

Hey Mudman,

Tried it but unfortunately no change. But maybe I did not do it correctly: when you say "key in, turn to on", what exactly do you mean?

As soon as the key is inserted the electronics come to live. There is no intermediate position between that and cranking.

Not sure if this is different on cars without entry & drive.

Thoughts?

Don't touch any pedals turn on, it won't crank, wait 30 seconds (now you're mpg will read "--", because its been reset; follow Mike's instructions for the balance to reset the height to default.

Ok, please bear with me here - I must be missing something obvious: I can't get the thing to reset (looking for the clear MPG as a verification).

I tried "cranking" without touching any pedal for well over 30 secs, no go.

Then I tried holding the key to the right for another 30+ secs, still no go.

Any idea what I'm missing?

Turn it on without touching the pedal. Hand off key wait 30 sec. (that should reset mpg

Turn off.
remove key.

Insert key start engine, hold center susp switch down for 30 seconds ( I am told this turns off the air suspension.

Now hold it up for the same, turns it back on.

Now everything should be back at default.
