Default EPS driveshaft support repair question

what is the purpose of replacing the black rubber donut item when replacing the bearing support bracket? can just the bracket for the bearing be replaced?

The black rubber donut is called a Guibo. Don't ask me why! The idea is that the guibo is generally worn ou tby the time the center suppor is shot. On my 2008 CTT, I replaced the center support at 72k miles, but the guibo was fine. I didn't want the remove the driveline and just kept it as a spare. You will be able to see if the guibo is bad- it will be cracked and when you grab the shaft and shake it, it will feel loose.

EPS says the Guibo is a simple bolt on, no driveshaft has to be removed. true?
