Smile 2004 Cayenne S

I am thinking to buy a used 2004 Cayenne S. The car is a one owner car with 70K miles.

After my research, looks like the plastic coolant pipe and the drive shaft are the two major problems for this car.

But some people say that this car have many other problems.

Please advise.

Thanks

I recommend a compression and draw down test. And I'd inspect the cylinder walls. I have two that foul #8 spark plug and have piston slap. I had drive shaft fixed. Coolant pipe had been upgraded earlier. Small item that I fixed myself -- the shafts that hold up the rear hatch.

I would strongly recommend to buy it if it is well maintained and has these issues sorted. The third usual one would be COPs needing replacement.

Got mine two years ago same spec with 75k miles and love it. Great for long trips with the family (2 babies) and plenty of space.

Had to change a pipe of the power steering and coolant tank, set me back around 700 euros both.

They're surprisingly good vehicles. I happen to have two at the moment, and have done everything from commuting, to moving across the country (in record time), to towing my race car, to actually driving one on a race track for a morning while we were giving some families rides at a charity event. The stock factory brakes have never let it down, and the ride and handling are excellent for something of its weight and height!
