Hybrid Auxilary Cabin Heating/Cooling - Cayenne
Anyone here got this?

From the description it seems like this is purely a software upgrade. Which seems insane at that price.
I am considering it nonetheless, as I live in Iceland. Just wondering if anyone has any anecdotal info about how well it performs, how much it sucks the battery etc.
Thanks. =)

What do you get? - If you order this item, you get a software license for activation and installation instructions. You then have to go to your local dealer to have the coding uploaded and activated to your car.
Note: Professional installation required by an authorized Porsche dealer, estimated installation time is about 30 minutes. Make sure your VIN number is 100% accurate (if it's wrong, you've wasted your money). This kit is not returnable under any circumstance.

That's not going to draw anymore power on the battery than if you were simply driving around with the battery and the AC/heater on. They require quite a bit of power to run, but that's also why it's likely only available on the hybrid compared to a normal gas power Cayenne.
That's kind of expensive for a license and software upgrade. But, I spent a few weeks in Iceland studying glaciers in college. Knowing the climate you guys have - I'd be all over that. Even at that price Amazing country you live in, sir.

It's very beautiful, and actually a lot of fun if you enjoy driving. We get all kinds of weather, conditions and road surfaces to deal with.
The only frustration is that something like a Boxster, Cayman or even a 911 is probably not the best choice of all year vehicle. But, hey, luckily we have some nice alternatives with the Porsche pedigree. =)
The software engineer in me kind of balks at $2000 for a "PSN code" to activate functionality already in my car.. But I do think this is a must have option for us in Iceland, as you say.
I kind of wish the dealerships would just lie about the install time, and have the engineers go have lunch after inputting the code.. and have you drop back later none the wiser..
