Valentine 1 Installation Pics
#3
Hi Mike..
Can't get a good picture. They installed the unit just below the mirror with the suction cups (All hidden wire). Installed by the tech who installs for a local P Dealer.
Just a note of my experience. It drove me crazy the first couple of days. I had the All bogeys mode selected. I think it beeped if someone passed wind in my zip code. I then selected the "L" option and that helped (with a reduction of sound level).
I kept the unit on and it appeared to turnoff with the ignition. I had a dead battery occur, then I decided to only turn it on on the freeways.
That said, I like the unit & I like the location. It's an intuitive reaction to look up at the mirror at the beeps or bracks. I do mostly city driving so I haven't been "saved" yet. BTW these detectors are legal in CA, but scramblers are not. So seeing the unit is not an issue. Good luck.

Just curious, how much did the dealer charge?
for those of you who had a dealer do it. I usually prefer to do these things myself, but don't feel like messing with the Cayenne because there are so many new systems running in it.

Really its not that difficult a car to work on.
I put my own FM Modulator in, ran the power, hooked into PCM etc.
Thanks for the pics, its up in a temp position until the weekend.

I will look on Saturday and let you know, basically all I did was to hook a meter up to each in turn until I found one that switched off with the ignition. thats what I will do with the V1 power also.
I was going to mount my iPod, but could not find anything I liked so I keep it in the center console until I want to use it and then lay it in front of the ash tray.
I ran the input cable under the center console to the side of my seat with enough to pull out for use and fold back when its not.
If something comes out better I will mount it so if you see anything other than phone mounts let me know.
The sound quality is very good but I did try about 3 iPod car power units until I found one that was not noisy.
