Pilicanparts.com has very good guides how to do it.
Transfer case fluid is DIFFERENT than the diffs.

Thanks everyone. I picked up a liter of Royal Purple 75w-90 last night. I trimmed a 8mm allen and opened the fill hole. I have a transfer pump and will fill later this morning.

thanks to all

As mntrat said, the transfer case uses ATF but the diff's use oil. I changed all mine last year and the old fluid was nasty. I don't think i would be comfortable driving around too long with ATF in my diffs.

Joe ............I would consult the owners manual for the correct oil and quantity.

My Cayenne '09 GTS has ATF in the transfer case and gear oil in the differentials.

Fill it back up with spec..... Just had my diffs done at 180k miles.... Fluid didn't look too bad but fresh and smooth fluid in now.

Going to try it out tomorrow on some fire roads and pastures.
