4 different ads for 4 different vehicles!
Just search Cayenne with the keywords tick, tap or lifter. Unbelievable how low some people will go. |
What's wrong with a little ticking? It's typical. AND it only happens at idle. NBD. No idea what Blake on Blake has to do with selling this cayenne though.

Blake on Blake sounds a bit nsfw.

"Lifter tick" in any modern (older too?) Porsche engine (986 Boxster on) is rarely the lifters and usually a symptom of bore scoring. It's really not good: https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...placement.html You can also find plenty of info about bore scoring in the various water cooled 911 and Boxter/Cayman forums. If you are hearing a tick, get your cylinders scoped (don't know if you need to do it from the top and bottom on the Cayenne like you do with the 911s). |

I know this is a joke thread, but I gotta ask. You're joking right?
I'll get that noise with the Pontiac G8's 6.0l on start up if I haven't driven it for a month or more, but then again, it isn't a dry-sump system like the Cayenne. But seriously though, it would have to be ticking pretty darn loud to hear anything over the roar of the cayenne's engine. |

Yes, the interwebs really needs a sarcasm font.

I wish my CTT had transmutation. Imagine the possibilities.
