Default New owner saying hello and asking some questions.

Hi all

Firstly hello. I'm Craig and currently living in the Middle east and love my cars.

I've just bought my 2004 Cayenne S. It's high mileage but I went in completely with my eyes open and the car has been known to my circle of friends since day one.

It has had the following recently:
New engine
All new power steering
Cardan shaft done
All new cooling system from pipes, pumps to radiator
New breaks
Bushes
Suspension
And recently in the last month had new tires.

So it's pretty well been taken care of.

I know it needs the following:

A new HID bulb
Headlight seals (ordered)
Tailgate struts (ordered)
Minor interior fixes

I've read on this forum about the water pipes under the intake should be replaced with metal ones. I'm not 100% sure if mines correct or not. It's metal from the block/heads till near the throttle body then they are rubber to the radiator which seems correct. Does anyone have pics that I can see what I should have. Or have I miss read something on here?

Thanks
Craig

Welcome Craig

Since you have a new engine then it should have metal coolant tubes but that depends on the supplier.
Is this a complete engine assembly from Porsche or one that was rebuilt locally?

You can use an inspection camera or scope to view under the intake manifold without removal.

Only way to be certain is with an inspection camera or scope.
Thanks!

I believe it was Porsche supplied and Porsche specialist fitted. It's the only thing I'm waiting to get full confirmation of.

Can you point me in the right direct for pics of what to look for?

If Porsche supplied and installed the engine you should be all set. Did they issue a warranty?

A scope can be inserted underneath the manifold from the back of the engine to verify. You can search this forum for pics.
