Default metal or plastic coolant intake socket? which did you use?

I know the coolant pipes are covered as to upgrade to metal over the plastic original pieces but how about the intake socket?

The original intake socket (from waterpump to thermostat housing) is plastic. There are some aftermarket metal versions of this and my '09 cayenne turboS had this but it is seeping after 10K miles. I bought an oem one that is plastic and just want to know if I should go that route or take the o rings off the oem one an put them on the metal version.

thank you.

Unrelated, but I'm surprised at how many of us 951 guys have bought a Cayenne. I'm loving my 04 TT

I read where the leaks were due to the original X o-rings used on '08 and early '09 models. Porsche eventually changed the o-ring design.
Personally, I'd use an aftermarket metal version and what ever o-rings it comes with.

btw, do you ever drive your 944? That would be a hard one to miss and I've never seen you around town.

OK, you would think the x seal would be better or at least it's supposed to be by design but my metal one had round o rings as is my new one. Waiting on new coolant distributor to install. Still not sure if I want to try the aluminum aftermarket piece with new o rings or just put the new oem plastic one in.

As for my 944, I should drive it more than I do. I live by Westville but am from and am often in Valparaiso.
