You read a lot of ad copy, you have Google, and you don't actually know how tires work.

Can you possibly not realize that rubber adheres (bonds at a molecular level indeed) to asphalt better than to ice? Better to either than leather? If you don't get this why so frothy about compounds?

As to mechanical adhesion, try sliding a shoe across the floor. Try again with someone standing in it.
